TEAR TROUGH

The tear trough is the region under your eyes, where you can suffer from depth, bags, puffyness or dark circles. Sometimes this is congenital, but it can also develop over the years. The skin becomes less firm and elastic and the fat pads and bone mass decrease in the cheekbones, cheeks and upper jaw. As a result, the 'foundation' of the tear trough falls away and this creates depth, sometimes extending into the cheeks and the lower eyelids can also droop. We often see dark circles with a tinted skin color, this is usually a problem of pigmentation.

Depth can be reduced by adding a filler. In addition, treatment of the temples and cheekbones/cheeks is often recommended for optimal results. Sometimes a surgical treatment may be advised.

TREATMENT

During the consultation we discuss your wishes and everything is explained.

The filler is placed in place with a cannula via only one puncture hole. This is the safest way to perform the treatment. Afterwards, a small red bump may be visible, this will disappear within an hour. Some swelling or bruising may also occur. You can safely use camouflage or arnica ointment after 24 hours if necessary.

The nice thing about fillers; you see immediate results! It does take some time to settle down,  after 6-8 weeks the result is on its best.

For optimal results, it is best not to exercise for 24 hours and to avoid heat (sun/sauna), the plane, massage and other beauty treatments for 2 weeks.

Once the depth returns, the treatment can be repeated.
